Batu Syaitan blends Malaysian folklore horror with sharp comedy, starring some of the nation’s best-known comedians and artists. A cursed stone with a sinister history haunts a modern village, but laughter collides with fear as the group of friends must outsmart an evil force that feeds on chaos. Both terrifying and entertaining, this film brings a uniquely Malaysian horror-comedy experience for today’s global audiences.

​MAHARAJA BOMOH (GRANDMASTER SHAMAN)

  1. ​LOGLINE
The film tells the story of three village friends; Amran, Jebat, and Iqbal, who all fell in love with the same woman, Maimunah. When her father, Pak Ya, finds out, he becomes furious and rallies the villagers to chase them away. Desperate to prove their love, the three men plead with Pak Ya to allow one of them to marry Maimunah. However, Pak Ya refuses, believing that none of them are worthy or stable enough to be his son-in-law.
After some advice from his friend Azri, Pak Ya sets a challenge: whoever manages to buy a house, own a car, and start a business within two years will win Maimunah’s hand in marriage.

Determined to succeed, the three friends head to the city to chase their dreams. Iqbal lands a job in a company, Amran works as a cook in a hotel, while Jebat, unwilling to work, plots to sabotage the others especially Amran, whom he sees as his biggest rival. When Jebat’s schemes cause Amran to lose his job, a disheartened Amran spots an advertisement for a bomoh (shaman) and decides to become one to get rich quickly.

​With the guidance of Jack Sparrow, his friend’s uncle and a former conman, Amran quickly becomes a famous and respected bomoh, sparking jealousy in Iqbal and Jebat. When Jebat publicly accuses Amran of being a fraud, Amran proves his abilities by exorcising a possessed person, earning Jebat’s respect and friendship.

​SYNOPSIS
'Kadavulukku Oru Kaditham' revolves around the life of Pinky, a young girl residing in an orphanage. Struggling with her loneliness and longing for parent’s love, Pinky prays fervently to God, requesting a holiday visit from her absent parents. She writes a letter to God and in an unexpected twist, her letter lands in the hands of a notorious territory gangsters, who hatch a plan to kidnap her and extort money from the orphanage. Things began to take a turn when the gangster gets too attached towards the little girl and everything started to change.
 
This feel-good comedy film promises an amalgamation of action, love, emotion, and laughter. The talented famous Malaysian cast includes Sasitharan K Rajoo in the lead role of Brahma, the head gangster, and Gobbinath `as Jilebi who is his rival gangster. Puspha Narayanan portrays the compassionate warden of the orphanage, while Chandhine Kaur takes on the role of the female lead. Additionally, the renowned influencer Thiyagu B, seasoned local actors like Anthony, Vicky, Veerasinggam, and many other talented individuals contribute to the film's comedic elements.
 
This is a story about family importance and the love of a kid and the strength of love to change even the most difficult of characters.
 
Directed by Abu Baker Siddiq, a Full Sail University graduate who previously served as an in-house producer at Astro Shaw for almost 6 years, 'Kadavulukku Oru Kaditham' brings together his expertise and extensive experience in the industry to create an outstanding film that will fill the cinema with laughter.
